NetSys 2021

NetSys to take place from 13.-16. September 2021

Dear colleagues, dear authors,

As you all can imagine, at the moment (mid-April 2021) it is quite impossible to predict in which format NetSys 2021 can really take place in September. We still hope that a face-to-face event will be possible, which still seems realistic due to Lübeck’s location in the low incidence area of Schleswig-Holstein and the massive increase in vaccination. At the same time, we are also preparing a hybrid solution of some kind, even if it is only suitable to a limited extent for an event like NetSys - where personal meetings play a very important role. Fortunately, we are still in the situation of not having to make a decision at the moment. As soon as this becomes necessary (or possible in the positive case), we will inform you via all conceivable channels!

The Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys 2021) provides an international forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to discuss recent innovations in the realm of networked systems.

This year’s edition will take place in Lübeck in Northern Germany close to the Baltic Sea coast. The Baltic Area has always been very active in networking, and the most famous and economically most important network during medieval ages has been the Hanse – which actually still exists today. Therefore, the motto for this year NetSys is “NetSys meets Hanse”.

NetSys 2021 is co-organized with ITG Zukunft der Netze 2021 and the “Frühjahrstreffen Betriebsysteme” of the Experts Group “Operating Systems” of the Gesellschaft für Informatik.

NetSys is a biennial event that originates from the key scientific conference on networked systems in German-speaking countries KiVS (Kommunikation in Verteilten Systemen) – which was initiated 41 years ago and has international orientation since 2013. NetSys is organized by the special interest group “Communication and Distributed Systems” (KUVS), which is anchored both in the German Computer Science society (Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI)) and in the Information Technology society (Informationstechnische Gesellschaft im VDE (ITG)).
